1985 – LA Nisei Week, featured performer, Little Tokyo, Los Angeles; the 1985 festival honored Astronaut Lt. Colonel, Ellison Onizuka as the first Asian American in space. Several months later in January 28, 1986, he perished tragically with the Challenger crew. I was privileged and honored to meet him and will never forget our private backstage conversation.
